3.8 STYLE Element (HTML 3)

HTML 3 introduced initially support for stylesheets, which are suplementary documents which contain style formatting instructions that can be applied to an HTML document. The STYLE element is designed to indicate that stylesheet information, either by

• Enclosing the information between <STYLE> and </STYLE>, or
• By referencing an external stylesheet via tags such as <STYLE HREF="url_to_stylesheet">.

The STYLE is currently implemented by the Arena browser.
